Lord, let me be a mom who strives, not with my children or my husband, but toward my continual goal of being more like You.
Lord, let me be a mom who aches, not from regrets or clinging to the past, but with love and compassion and desire to see my children know You fully.
Lord, let me be a mom who cries, freely letting the sweet and fleeting moments touch my heart, and freely letting my children see how to walk through difficult times and still cling fast to You.
Lord, let me be a mom who begs, continually for Your kingdom to come in my home and for Your will to be done in my family, for Your presence to be apparent around us and for Your love to flow among us and from us.
Lord, let me be a mom who is selfish for my time with You, knowing that my investment in our relationship directly influences my children’s understanding of Who You are and how You are our everything.
Lord, let me be a mom who doesn’t care about the fleeting awkwardness of sharing You with others, about the opinions of people when they don’t measure up to Your own, and about the cares of this world that so easily entangle us.
Lord, let me be a mom who fights for the innocence of my children and for the purity of our home.
Lord, let me be a mom who is stubborn, staunch in the face of trial and unwilling to give up on the promises You have given us.
Above all, Lord, let me be a mom who is unwilling to waver, determined to be faithful, and committed to be righteous and pleasing in Your sight in all that I do.
Amen and amen
